Request: Survey to Help Clinicians and Community Organizations
Today’s blog is a guest request from Julie Burbidge, a PhD student in clinical psychology at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. Hopefully you can help her request below!
I have been working with people with developmental disabilities and their families for several years, and I have a particular interest in the experiences of siblings. I am currently working on a research project that is focused on understanding the experiences of adults, aged 30 to 60, who have a sibling with a developmental disability. I am looking for people to participate in my study and am asking for your help. The study is done completely online and it takes about 1 hour to complete. Participants will be asked questions about their family relationships, their sibling with a disability, support use, mental health, and well-being. I am hoping that the results of this research will help clinicians and community organizations to better understand the needs of siblings and how to support adults who have a sibling with a disability.
If you are an adult sibling, or if you know an adult sibling who is interested in participating in this study, please go to: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/YNHWLRT
Or, if you would like more information, please email me at 5jgb@queensu.ca.
