Canada Line Celebrates First Birthday
Yesterday, the Canada Line celebrated their 1-year birthday. The Canada Line boasts over 36 million passengers within their first year of operation and is expecting the addition of more cars on the Canada Line sometime in 2011.For the Developmental Disabilities Association, the Canada Line has been providing easier access to Richmond for our mail couriers. Our couriers not only take public transportation, but they all have some form of a developmental disability. In addition to advocating for people with developmental disabilities and hiring them in our own workplace, we also have a job training and placement program for people with developmental disabilities: Jobs West.
Fun Facts: All Canada Line stations are wheelchair-accessible with provisions for HandyDART. Also, there is cell phone service all along the Canada Line, even when underground!
