“Me Too” @ the Vancouver International Film Festival
The Vancouver International Film Festival (VIFF) will be showcasing a film called Me, Too (Yo, tambien), a Spanish film with English Subtitles directed by Alvaro Pastor and Antonio Naharro. The synopsis for the film reads:
Thirty-four year-old Daniel (Pablo Pineda, in a remarkably affecting turn) is the first European with Down syndrome to have graduated from university. Finding himself between two worlds, he starts a social service job in Seville, where he meets free-spirited co-worker Laura (Lola Dueñas). It is not long before their burgeoning friendship starts to draw the attention – not always approving – of co-workers, friends and family. As Daniel starts to fall in love with Laura, things become problematic…
The film looks like a fascinating film, both artistic and thoughtful. A trailer of the film can be seen below. If the film looks of interest to you, you can also purchase tickets to see it at VIFF here.
